thankful.

i am so thankful that this girl is a healthy little girl. lately, over the last few months, i have been reading a lot of blogs, all different, but with the same theme. a young child who is sick. some are her age, some are younger than her, some are older. but it's the same story. a child who is very ill, in the hospital. some with good, happy outcomes, and some with the opposite. which breaks my heart. reading these blogs, and the courageous parent who writes about getting through it, especially those with the dire outcome, reminds me to be so thankful for the healthy "normal" that is in this girls life. reading these other experiences gently reminds me of what a blessing that is. some of these stories i have read over the last few months were terminal illnesses, some just "random" incidents. some turned out good, some not. which breaks my heart.

it's also a reminder that i am so thankful for the other healthy family and friends in my life......yes, we may all be tired, or just not feeling great, and complain about little things like that, but in reality, that is all they are....little things. it could be sooo much worse. reading these stories reminds me of that. to be thankful that it is all i am complaining about. and to hope that is all we ever have to complain about. i am also very thankful that the other 2 important girls in my life, my 7 and 10 year old charges, are healthy children too. i am thankful for all the health in our lives right now.
reading these stories, makes me stop and think sometimes, that life is good. very good.
