our trip started out rough....mother nature decided to bombard us with snow, and flights were being cancelled the night before, but ours was "on time". we left the house at 6 am to get to the airport in plenty of time for our 8:50 a.m. flight. it took an hour of very slow driving, but not bad! we got through security with no trouble, i even got to get pat down, lucky me! our flight was delayed. then delayed. again and again. they boarded us onto the plane, only to have us get off the plane an hour later. then we finally boarded again, about 45 minutes later, then we were on the plane a bit before the de-icing started, and the slow ride to the runway. we finally arrived in florida at dusk, nearly 8 or 9 hours past our original arrival time! we pretty much lost a day in the parks from that! we also missed our dining reservation that night (and never were able to make it up, so we lost a table service credit, as we were on the "free" dining plan this trip, which was great!!)
the vacation was great, warm and sunny each day (except the last morning when it rained, then the sun shone in full force). the race was good. addison loved it all. she had no fear, and soaked it up. she especially liked the pirates of the carribbean and had fun singing "yo ho". she really enjoyed meeting the characters and getting their autographs. she got the routine down really quick..."hand pen/book to character, get autograph, pose for picture". she was funny. and when she discovered a character nearby, she'd get this funny laugh. hilarious. she hugged them all and was even starstruck by her favorites! we also had a nice surprise at check in.....our travel agent (who had sent addy an autograph book prior to the trip), left us a special present! a tote bag/insulated food bag, a plush mickey, mickey pretzels, and 2 pins. we were shocked to recieve that! we celebrated birthdays (kim and addy) while in "the world" (as addison calls it) too! it was a good trip!
so here in photos is our trip! it's not all of them, but if you know me, you'll eventually see them all when they are in the scrapbook! and there are a lot!!!!!!!!
taken on the first time getting on the plane....we still had a smile left in us after the long day.
this girl was a trooper!
naptime during the flight, we finally got there 8 hours later.
our unexpected gift, which was such a surprise. my jaw is still on the floor!
running to the dance party, and addy's first character experience!
addy's first character! goofy, who was dancing up a storm!!!
time for a few rides before the park closed!
kim and addy (on kim's birthday), riding the monorail
(ding dong!!) --> the monorail made a ding dong sound and everytime addy would say that!
birthday breakfast with pooh and friends!
addy was so excited to meet mickey! she had been asking to see him since we arrived the night before...but it was too late for characters other than the dance party.....so after breakfast the first stop was the mouse!
runnin the half marathon!
i love palm trees.
she actually isn't sad, but that is how her face turned out and i think it's cute! she got her face painted at animal kingdom while we waited for the parade!
post race dinner with cinderella and company.
she didn't make it. prince charming took a snooze at the table with her.
and posed with mommy. what a nice couple they make! ha!
addy and her birthday cupcake at the cinderella dinner. we got a picture of her with it one way or the other! she and kim got one of these, or something similar at every table service meal we had (thanks to me for putting it on the reservation!!!)
breakfast with lilo, stitch, mickey and pluto!
during the meal they play a song and the kids parade around with the characters playing maracas......lilo came and took addy by the hand and led her during the parade....a magical moment!
fun in the toy story character line.
woody!

Awesome pictures!!! Looks like a wonderful trip! I'm so glad Addy's 1st trip to "the world" was so memorable!
What a great way to start the day by reading about your adventures and seeing the pictures. A rough start, that's true, but so much fun!
Yep. I need a tan. Those are some white-ass legs.
I finally realized the strange thing about Prince Charming. He has a very small head.
Never mind Prince C's small head - he is awfully cute.....
and I want to go back....
Kim, yes....he does....or is your head too big?!! His jacket (shoulders) are too big too. He is cute though!
These are all such cute pictures. It was fun to have Addison and Kim with us. I will go back ANY time!
But next trip let's pick a day to fly with blue skies and above freezing temperatures with no precipitation. Maybe Dumbo could pick us up. With Prince Charming.
And congratulations Maggie on being a half marathon princess and doing so well!
