there was this running q & a i saw on a blog recently, so i thought i would give it a try on mine. here it goes.
1. best race experience: disneyland half marathon. while it was my worst timed half marathon ever, it was one of my favorites. my training leading up to it was sub par for what it should be, but i decided to be in the experience and relish it. it was 80* and higher at race time, but i took my time and enjoyed the moment. i stopped at every stop, and smiled the whole time. i took so long in the parks i went from the 2nd start corral to being back with the walkers in the last corral. i dodged them the whole race, but i enjoyed it. it also brought my running mojo back.
2. best run: again, the disneyland half marathon. i just felt good the whole time. granted it was a very slow run, and my worst timed half yet, but i felt good, and never felt horrible or in pain. and if i did, i don't remember it, whereas i can pinpoint times where felt bad in other races this year.
3. best new piece of gear: hmm. i guess i would say my new sparkle skirt! and the stick. the stick helped my muscles pre and post race at disneyland, which is when i bought it and began using it.
4. best piece of running advice you recieved: "be in the moment and enjoy it". i try to remember that for races and even some training runs.
5. most inspirational runner(s): i don't really know many runners personally, and i don't have a running buddy that i run with each week. so i would have to say, one of the team sparkle girls, kelly, and reading her running adventures on her blog. she inspires me to run, and shows you can get through the darkness and lows in life, and running it out helps. especially with sparkle.
6. if you could sum up your year in a couple of words, what would they be: emotional.
7. most exciting (running) moment of 2012: earning my coast to coast medal.

Absolutely love this!! I'm going to steal it for my blog. :)
Congrats on your running this year!
"Be in the moment and enjoy it" is a great way to look at life. I'm happy you're going back to WDW next month, but think that your running heart might really be at Disneyland.
Love this running re-cap! I got the stick for Christmas and have used it a bit. I wanted one for a long time. I LOVE your idea in your comment on my blog of something to look forward to! Someday...maybe 2014??? That would be awesome Maggie!!!
